Taking on the gauntlet to entertain we have the blisteringly funny satirist and stand up Marcus Brigstocke, the wonderfuly laconic Jeremy Hardy (Have I Got News for You, The News Quiz) , stand up comedian and actress Lucy Porter and the award-winning comedian, writer and champion of science Robin Ince. Joining them will be a comedian Stand Up For Slapstick regulars will be familiar with – Boothby Graffoe – and a first appearance from Mitch Benn, who’ll be entertaining us with the guitar and rock songs familiar to anyone who listens to Radio 4’s The Now Show.

And that’s not quite all – we’ll have at least one more stand up comedian to announce so keep your eye’s on this site or our social media accounts for new additions. Oh – and don’t forget to grab your tickets fast before they all go!

What is Stand Up for Slapstick?

Stand Up For Slapstick began as a means of fundraising the January Festival. After rejections and denials for funding from local authorities, hope was very nearly lost, but Chris Daniels and Graeme Garden took it in their stride and created the first SUFS in 2012. It has since grown into an established yearly event in it’s own right, and now welcomes some of the finest stand up comedians in the UK to Bristol for one night of the year.
